Microsoft Uses Sprint Help to Launch New Windows Phone and 2 Other Dow Movers to Watch

In a Friday debut, Sprint introduced the HTC 8XT Windows phone, which features dual front-facing speakers and Beats Audio software. The camera can take multishot pictures and also adjust for low light, according to PhoneArena.com. The device comes with a 4.3-inch WVGA 480X800 display, 1.4-gigahertz dual-core processor, and 8 gigabytes of built-in storage and a Micro SD slot. With the phone, buyers will gain access to Microsoft professional tools and corporate security features, along with 7 gigabytes of SkyDrive cloud storage. The product is now available on Sprint at $99.99 after a $50 rebate and with a two-year contract, according to The Motley Fool.

Chevron Corp. (NYSE:CVX): Current price $127.12

On Monday, Chevron Phillips Chemical Co. said it released emissions after a division was closed at its Sweeny chemical plant in Texas, according to a filing with state regulators there. The ethylene arm was shut down subsequent to its losing a gas-fired turbine compressor, said the filing with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.

Pfizer Inc. (NYSE:PFE): Current price $29.29

Sources told Bloomberg that Pfizer, AstraZeneca, and Novartis AG are among the remaining suitors readying offers for Onyx Pharmaceuticals Inc. after the drugmaker turned aside an unsolicited offer of $120 per share from Amgen Inc. The firms inked confidentiality arrangements and hired advisers and might make first-round bids this week, the sources said. Onyx disclosed in June that it is collaborating with advisers on finding offers after its rejection of Amgen’s bid.
